Zuni Fetishes Tyrone Poncho Picasso Marble Frog
Tyrone Poncho is the son of Georgette Quam, of the Quam fetish-carving family. The stone is beautifully colored, and the workmanship is of very high quality. The frog has inlaid jet eyes and three turquoise dots on its back between its folded legs. The carver used the shape of a cottonwood tree leaf to carve a base for the frog. Both cottonwood trees and frogs are found near water sources.
