Vintage Hooper Bay Woven Cup and Saucer

This charming woven cup and saucer set was acquired by a woman who lived in Hooper Bay, Alaska in the early 1970’s. It is woven from both natural color and dyed grasses in the tradition of the Yup’ik weavers from the Hooper Bay area.

The natural grass has a nice golden patina acquired over 40 years.

Saucer is 3 1/8 in. diameter x 1/4 in. high; cup is 2 3/8 in. diameter at its widest (excluding handle) x 1 1/4 in. high; set is 1 1/2 in. high altogether
