Vintage Alaskan Eskimo/Inuit Baby Ivory Walrus Carving
This walrus, carved from walrus tusk, is just starting to grow tusks. Maybe toddler would be more appropriate than baby, but it’s a young one, nevertheless.
1 1/2 inches long x 7/8 inch wide, x 1 5/8 inches high
This item, along with many more, came out of the collection of the late Russell McLaughlin. Mr. McLaughlin spent several years in Alaska in the early 1950s, where he collected hundreds of pieces of Eskimo/Inuit artwork and artifacts.
