Lincon Milligrock Alaskan Eskimo Carved Animals Bracelet

Lincoln Milligrock, Inupiaq artist from Little Diomede Island (1931 – 2010) was one of the last masters of carved animal bracelets.

The carvings on this bracelet are more petite than the carvings of most of the other bracelets we’ve handled by this artist. The carvings depict a musher on a sled with three sets of two dogs and one lead dog The uncarved discs have beautiful patterns of slightly darker ivory, while the carved discs are made from fresh ivory.

The bracelet has an inside circumference of about 6 1/2inches. It is approximately 5/8 inch wide.

The bracelet is signed in black ink with Milligrock’s name and address as well as the date 8/12/75.
