Molly Neptune Parker (1939 – 2020) was a well respected, long-time Passamaquoddy basket maker. She was named a National Heritage Fellow in October, 2012 by the National Endowment for the Arts.
This basket was woven by Ms. Parker in collaboration with her daughter Liz Neptune. It incorporates features typical of Molly’s baskets, including flowers and woven sweetgrass.
Basket is 5 3/4 inches in diameter x 7 1/2 inches high, including flowers. It is signed, but not dated. We estimate it was woven in the first decade of the 21st century. It is in excellent condition.
