Molly Neptune Parker Passamaquoddy Braided Sweetgrass Basket

Molly Neptune Parker (1939 – 2020) was a well respected, long-time Passamaquoddy basket maker. She was named a National Heritage Fellow in October, 2012 by the National Endowment for the Arts.

This basket features braided sweetgrass, a time-consuming process that dresses up an otherwise simple round design. If you love baskets in their natural ash and sweetgrass palette, this is one for you.

Basket is 4 1/2 inches in diameter x 2 inches high. It is signed, but not dated. We estimate it was woven in the first decade of the 21st century. It is in excellent condition.
