From an extensive basket collection comes a vintage two-handled basket of exceptional beauty. The timeless checkerboard design, one of this basket’s attractive features, is still used by some contemporary weavers. The two handes make it practical to tote around. Likely of Passamaquoddy origin, this item will make a nice historic addition to a Wabanaki basket collection.
Materials: ash, sweetgrass,. The basket shows a warm patina of age. While the basket had colors on the outside, they have now faded but are still visible on the inside.
