Two Level Carved Animal Alaskan Ivory Bracelet

A fantastic two level bracelet made from walrus tusk with detailed, finely carved animals and geese. One of the levels consists of a musher driving a sled team. Four swans with inlaid markings cross the two levels. The second level includes a seal, a whale, a wolf, and a bear, and a walrus.

The red dye on the walrus and on the musher, combined with the lack of an artist signature, are good indications that this bracelet was made before 1960. While the style resembles the work of master carver Lincoln Milligrock, we do not have provenance to ascertain this.

The bracelet has an inside circumference of about 6 1/2 inches. It is approximately 1 3/16 inches wide. The elastic bands are in good condition.
