Theresa Neptune Gardner Passamaquoddy Covered Barrel Basket
From 1998 we have a covered barrel basket with faded red and green colors within x-shaped tubular woven enclosures. Theresa Neptune Gardner was one of three well-known weaving sisters, the other two being Clara Keezer and Angela Barnes. The sisters maintained the art of basket making among the Wabanaki people of Maine through the years when many others abandoned it. As a result, they became active members of the Maine Indian Basketmakers Alliance and lived to see a revival of their beloved art.
