Penobscot Root Club

Stan Neptune is one of the finest living Wabanaki carvers. This clear-coated root club depicts a Penobscot wearing his tribe’s traditional headdress, with vertical feathers. In addition to the carved bust, there are a number of other chip-carved designs, including a turtle.

The artist’s his name and eel clan symbol are carved just below the back of the head.
