Penobscot Basket Kim Bryant Pineapple

Kim Bryant is a talented basket maker who is also mother of Ganessa Frey.

This pinapple basket by Ms. Bryant is larger than most we have seen and is beautifully executed. It was made in 2006 and was kept out of bright light by the original buyer in order to maintain the dyes in their original shades.

One distinguishing design element that separates this basket from other pineapple and fruit baskets is the use of braided sweetgrass across the entire height; braided sweetgrass is a time consuming task that adds interest to Wabanaki baskets.
