A beautifully woven acorn basket by Passamaquoddy artist Eric Bacon, aka Otter. Otter used very fine strips of black ash combined with woven sweetgrass. The diagonal line following the contours of the outside of the acorn shows the basket was woven with one continuous strip of ash.
4 inches diameter at its widest x 3 1/2 inches high, not including stem; stem adds 2 inches to the height. Basket lies on its side; the included one inch leather ring will allow it to stand upright.
