Dewey Owl is a wood carver from Cherokee, North Carolina. He uses exotic woods to turn very attractive bowls, often combining two kinds of wood for contrast.

This base of this bowl is box elder wood; the rim is walnut. The box elder contains a number of worm holes and other markings that give it great character.
