Decontie & Brown Silver Necklace with Basket Weave and Rhyolite
Made from Argentium, this necklace incorporates local Maine traditions and materials. The dark rhyolite with white specks comes from Maine, found and cut by Jason Brown. The woven ash in the medallion represents the centuries old Maine Indian tradition of weaving with wood from the sacred ash tree.
The texture of the silver is better visible on the rear of the medallion; the texture is used throughout the entire medallion, front and back.
The hand made chain is 24 in. in length. The medallion is 1 3/4 in. high x 1 1/2 in. wide.
Argentium is an alloy that contains 93.5% silver (higher silver content than sterling); it is highly tarnish resistant, making it easier to maintain in humid climates.
