Bobby Nokalak is from Kugluktuk, the westernmost community in Nunavut, Canada. In this tableau, a wolf is literally nipping at the heels of two caribou. This is one of Nokalak’s miniature sculptures, carved from a greenish stone; the aritst’s took marks are readily visible on the surface, which is uneven, almost faceted. It is a captivating style.
