Araquin Boome Curiosity Serigraph
Araquin Boome is the son of Coast Salish artist Peter Boome, who is a member of the Upper Skagit tribe of Washington State. Araquin is a member of the Puyallup tribe. He has been around his father’s art his whole life. Curiousity is the first serigraph Araquin created from start to finish.
Artist’s statement: “This piece details a hummingbird, gazing upon a reflection of what it sees in itself, all the while it is the viewers choice as to which hummingbird represents the reflection. This image is based on the idea of the choices we make in life that lead us down different paths. While neither choice is better than the other, we are always curious about how things would have gone if we had chosen the other path.”
