Aisa Amittu is the son of famed Inuit carver Davidialuk Amittu. Aisa has carried on his father’s tradition and is well regarded in his own right.
This sculpture, carved from smooth, dark grey stone, depicts couple sleeping in an igloo. Delicate features are etched into the stone to represent facial features, igloo blocks, and more. The work is reminiscent of Miram Qiyuk’s sculpture.
9 1/4 inches long x 3 1/2 inches wide x 1 7/8 inches high.
