    Davidee Itulu Scrimshaw Davidee Itulu, 1929 - 2006, created detailed scrimshaw figures on either walrus tusk or caribou antler. This antler includes human figures, geese, a bear, a ptarmigan, and a walrus. Beautiful detail. Serpentine base. It's rare to see Itulu's scrimshaw on the market. He lived in the community of Kimmirut, known in 1977 by its Anglo name of Lake Harbour. Bottom of base includes the artist's name in Inuktitut and Roman as well as the date (77) and Lake Harbour. (I know it's impossible to read in the photo.) 8 3/4 in. high x 1 1/2 in. wide (base is 2 5/8 in. wide)

    Ivory figure

    This is a finely detailed figure carved from walrus tusk, imported from the community of Kimmirut (Lake Harbour) in the 1950's. The beautiful facial features are delicately framed by the male parka. The small point on the hood and the soft drape of the parka make this small figure come alive. 4 1/4" h x 1 5/8" w x 7/8" d<br><br>Because of marine mammal protection laws, this item can only be shipped within the United States.
