Turquoise/moonstone pendant

Turquoise/moonstone pendant: Amelia Joe-Chandler combines traditional cultural elements with a contemporary sense of design. She does not use any polish on her silver; as a result, the matte finish of her work is very distinctive and the artist’s hand is evident in every piece.

Sterling silver pendant with a sky blue turquoise cabochon above a teardrop shaped moonstone cabochon.

On the back of the pendant are inlaid sandstone shapes representing Shiprock Mountain in New Mexico as well as male rain (thunderstorm). The clouds are cutouts showing the back of the turquoise.
