Passamaquoddy Trinket Box Basket Clara Keezer Wabanaki
A superb trinket box basket by NEA National Heritage Fellow Clara Keezer from 2006. Keezer was one of the long-time Wabanaki weavers who kept the art of basket making alive, making it possible for the Maine Indian Basketmakers Alliance to create an apprenticeship program for younger weavers in the 1990s.
This basket has small legs made from ash and an abundance of braided sweetgrass in diamond shape. It is in pristine condition.
