The Navajo were the first southwestern tribes to create turquoise and silver belt buckles. This traditional sandcast belt buckle of authentic Navajo design has a beautiful teardrop-shaped turquoise cabochon. Dating to the 1960s or 1970s, the natural turquoise is possibly Kingman or Bisbee in origin.
This belt buckle has a genuine patina for an aged “look” that is as authentic as it is Native American; the buckle can be polished by the purchaser if desired. Though not explicitly marked, it tests as sterling silver.
