Janet Neptune was one of Molly Neptune Parker’s daughters. Molly was a renowned and dearly loved weaver, one of the artists who helped shape the Maine Indian Basketmakers Alliance. Janet was one of a number of basket makers Molly trained in the art.
This basket, woven in 2007, contains an abundance of braided sweetgrass woven in patterns in and around the ash splints. It is in excellent condition.
7 3/4 inches diameter x 4 1/2 inches high, including ribbon weave on cover.
