Hand forged copper gorget

$675.00

Jonathan Perry’s people are the Wampanoag of Martha’s Vineyard. Perry methods are very traditional: rather than buying sheets of copper, he creates his jewelry from chunks of raw copper, cold hammering them into thin sheets. He adorns them with line images made with the edge of a rock.

The images represent the stars that witness the earth and all of creation.

The cord is drawn through two copper plates and black and white glass beads.

4″ diameter. The braided cord, made from smoked deerskin, is knotted, so it can be adjusted to the desired length.
