Dancing bear shaman

A charming dancing bear/shaman by talented artist Samonie Toonoo of Cape Dorset. Toonoo, whose sculptures are often intense, can also use humor to great effect. This sculpture, which is carved from beautiful green serpentine, features a bear dressed in an amauti (parka), doing a shy dance.
