Dale Dana is a Passamaquoddy artist from Indian Township, Maine. He has been working with quills and birchbark for around twenty years.
This container displays the light inner bark of a birch bark tree, with lovely patterns in the bark itself, adorned with porcupine quills in both natural and blue dyed colors, and lined with soft light deerskin on the inside.
Artists who work with quills are not as common as they once were. This container is a wonderful example of art by an accomplished active artist.
