Celina Seelenak Putulik Sailboat Sculpture

Celina Seelenak Putulik Sailboat Sculpture

A charming and uncommon basaltic sculpture of an umiak (open boat) with a sail. Attributed to Celina Seelenak Putulik by her Eskimo disc number: E3-491. Putulik was born in 1934 and died in 1995.

The sail is made from a thin chamois material; the white solid accoutrements are made from caribou antler, which requires a permit for international export.

Wear spots, particularly on both sides of the coaming.

5 1/4 in. long x 6 1/2 in. high (including sail) x 2 1/4 in. wide.
