Vintage Eskimo Bone Whale
An charming whale carved from bone, riding the waves of the ocean. Because of its shape and its teeth, we are calling this a sperm whale, but we are interested in hearing from whale experts if we are not correct.
Carving is signed CS on the bottom. This came out of a collection of Eskimo carvings; we attribute it to be of Alaskan Eskimo origin, dating from the 4th quarter of the 20th century.
Carving is 3 1/4 inches long x 1 3/4 inches wide x 2 inches high.
